Studio Re-opening Update

May 20, 2020

While we await the State’s decisions on openings and the phasing out of phase 1 and phasing into phase 2, everyone is excited about the possibility of Governor Cooper making a decision to reopen salons and spas soon. I greatly appreciate the phone calls and texts and emails I have received asking to be put on wait list to be called as soon as possible, rest assured that I miss you just as much and look forward to returning as well. As many are eager to visit salons and spa, I ask you all for your patience as I figure out new protocols and make plans accordingly. State Board, for both cosmetology and massage, has yet to release any guidelines for us. While I have always maintained a level of high standards for cleanliness and sanitation, dealing with COVID precautions will take us to a completely different level of doing things. Establishing new protocol for clients and adapting to taking new precautions for everyone will take time as well as resources.

That being said, I have made a personal decision NOT to return to the spa studio for the time being. My personal decision to refrain from jumping back into the studio until I feel comfortable and confident, on all levels, is a decision I have not taken lightly. Financially, it was an extremely difficult decision. To re-open too soon will require resources I just do not have the finances to support. To not open continues to hurt me financially as well. Primarily, safety is my main concern. Very many factors have been taken into consideration, including my own health, but more importantly, the health of my family and clients.

Right now I’m hoping to personally return by mid to late June. As soon as I have a specific date, I will personally reach out to everyone that has been put on my wait list. I have a list of prioritized clients who will all be contacted with the opportunity to reschedule. First, those that had memberships before closing, those that had standing appointments and those that had been on the schedule before we closed. After that, those who have called to make appointments will be called.

When I return, my schedule will likely be limited. The time I will need in between each client will be longer and therefore I will not be able to take as many clients in a single day as I had before. I will also be moving from 3 days to 2 days as I pay close attention to my own health. I am also in courses right now that require my time and attention. Online booking is down for the foreseeable future so I can have more control. We will have to see how this goes before we can return to “normal”. I will have a protocol for clients established and sent out as I rebook appointments along with new forms to fill out and sign.

Thank you all for your love and support during these unprecedented times. You can reach out to me if you have individual questions or concerns! Know that while I am not coming into the studio, I am available for online spa wellness coaching and also have prepackaged wellness sets for in home use that I can help you with.

Please be safe, be well, be wise, be kind, be love.
